When you mock James Bond, you deserve to get hit in the face with a pie, and that’s exactly what happened to Piers Morgan.
To recap: this week, the British TV presenter posted a photo of Daniel Craig carrying his baby daughter in a papoose—an outdated word for a sling—with the caption, ““Oh 007.. not you as well?!!! #papoose #emasculatedBond.”
He was promptly slammed for suggesting that it’s somehow “emasculating” to care for your child, and even Chris Evans weighed in with some harsh words on Morgan’s retro views on masculinity. But Morgan wouldn’t budge on his position, responding to the controversy by making fun of everyone who was mad at him.
So on Wednesday, English comedian Harry Hill appeared on Morgan’s show, Good Morning Britain, and hit him in in the face with a pie filled with shaving cream.
“This pie is for all those men that wear papooses!” he shouted as he lunged. “That’s for the guys who wear papooses. All right? It’s for Ross Kemp and for Daniel Craig.”
The response from Morgan’s co-anchor, Susanna Reid, suggests that the prank wasn’t staged, as she looked at him with concern and said, “Gosh. Are you all right?”
Harry Hill has a parting thought for Piers on the papoose debate. See you soon @piersmorgan
