If your idea of a perfect summer lunch involves spreading out some cheese and crackers on your favorite cutting board and making yourself a cocktail, may I recommend an additional booze-themed twist? In honor of cheese board enthusiasts and cocktail-lovers alike, Aldi is releasing a new seasonal Emporium cheese collection on Aug. 25, and all three flavors are inspired by some of our favorite drinks. The cheeses, imported from England, don't actually contain any alcohol, but the rich flavors (and even garnishes) are all packed into the cheesy blocks.
If you're team pineapple on pizza, the Piña Colada Wensleydale cheese is blended with diced pineapples, diced peaches, and piña colada coconut flavoring. If you're in more of a brunch mood, the Peach Bellini Wensleydale is infused with fruity Prosecco flavors, peach jam, and diced peaches. And if spiked coffee is your jam, the creamy Espresso Martini Wensleydale is made with chocolate-coated coffee beans and espresso martini flavoring with a sweet and chocolatey coffee scent, which sounds perfect for a dessert charcuterie board.
As interesting as they sound on their own, I will definitely be pairing the booze-inspired cheeses with their respective drinks just for the experience. Take a closer look at the new summer cheeses ahead and shop each flavor, available for $3, once they hit shelves later this month.
